My name is Oluwatope Jagun and I was born in Lagos, Nigeria. I currently reside in the United Kingdom with my family. I will love to share how I came to the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and how the Holy Spirit directed me to set up the Healing Souls Christian Tabernacle through the help of the Holy Spirit.
From the age of eight, I will look at the clouds and wonder why they were moving on their own accord. I would often ask my mother why the clouds were moving and who was residing in the heavenly realms. However, I felt that the answers my mother gave satisfied my curiosity. I was still a child when my father passed away. Not long after he died, some of my community’s children took me to an evangelical church nearby for the first time.The church was about three miles from my home.
During these sessions, the children were singing and dancing. Afterwards, the teacher displayed a calendar depicting the rapture with Jesus descending from the cloud and people ascending to meet him in the sky. I realised at this point that this was the real explanation to why I was gazing into the skies and looking at the clouds. I immediately broke down in tears, gave my life to Jesus and made a firm decision to follow him to make heaven.
However, I faced a lot of hostility after I made the decision to follow Jesus. My family refused to accept my new faith, and I was physically beaten and tortured to make me renounce my faith. I persisted in my faith and today most of my siblings have found Jesus and become his ardent followers.
Since my early days as Christian, I have been fervent about winning souls for Christ and I have gained valuable support and encouragement from my pastors, church leadership and Brother and Sisters. I have also embarked on a course in theology. All these have combined to increase my eagerness for winning souls and contribute to the building and planting of God’s church. I aim to foster and bring about the love of God in our community built on righteousness and holiness and the fivefold gifts of the Holy Spirit.
